Fighting You, Fighting Me Poem by Aria Siren

Fighting You, Fighting Me

I keep going through
Phases of common sense
That shock me with a clear view
Until you reappear in a hazy lens

I sweep away your mist
But then you grab my hand
I struggle to make a fist
But in one touch you rearrange my plans

Its like you know when I make up my mind
Because thats when you swoop in and leash me
And I've never been so comfortable when I'm so confined
And I can't fight you when you strip me of my energy

Slowly you retract my pointed finger
As I remind you of your indifferent attacks
I turn away and close my eyes but there you linger
And you have the strength that I seem to lack

And I just want to make you feel as bad as I do
So that someone else can understand this pain
And I hope you understand why I stopped calling you
Because when I leave I have you to lose but myself to gain

I enjoyed the way you've taken this common feeling and made it unique to your situation. The way you manipulate words is a signature I always find in your poetry. My favourite line was: And I just want to make you feel as bad as I do So that someone else can understand this pain It really stood out to me, because no one likes going through pain alone, but also because it paints a vivid picture in my mind. I see your dark side coming out, confined by a chain yet eager, reaching out with outstretched arms. Your poetry is always at its peak (in my personal opinion) when you let the darkness in you leave its stamp somewhere in your masterpiece. Excellent my friend.

Phases of common sense...comfortable when confined. You've outdone urself & I loved every line. You cld've taken this whole passage directly from my mind...and I rhyme, aha! Me= corny. Your poetry= brilliance. I especially enjoyed the following. And I've never been so comfortable when I'm so confined And I can't fight you when you strip me of my energy Slowly you retract my pointed finger As I remind you of your indifferent attacks I turn away and close my eyes but there you linger And you have the strength that I seem to lack

Lovely Job! The first and last stanza are my favorites I keep going through Phases of common sense That shock me with a clear view Until you reappear in a hazy lens So true how sometimes people can make you second guess yourself. And I just want to make you feel as bad as I do So that someone else can understand this pain And I hope you understand why I stopped calling you Because when I leave I have you to lose but myself to gain And this show how you have won, and i love the way you relayed it. Muy bien!
