Fighting A Losing Battle Poem by Mixo Malepfane

Fighting A Losing Battle

Should I keep my feelings for you hostage
Or should I hold myself to ransom
What you have done to me is unforgivable
You have touched my heart and moved my soul

I saw you only once but I had been seeing you all my life
We spoke briefly but our conversation was like that of siblings
When you touched me it felt like cold water running through a fresh wound
It was what I wanted for it was not only my mind that you touched but my thoughts as well

How can I put you in my past when you are my future
How can I stop thinking about you when you are my thoughts
My body has gone into shock it is numb and only your touch can bring me back to life
You have become my ambition and passion

I do not want to say I have found a woman after my heart
So can I ask you
Did you feel what I felt
Were you moved like I was
Can you hear me even when I say nothing
Can you understand me even when I have thought of nothing
Can you taste the aroma of my love
Do you see my wishes for us
Look at what I want for you
Listen to my heart I beg of you please
