Drink and dance,
Soul asleep
by the pristine pond
of sinless romance.
Wear a vicious and pungent glance
When fragile feet
walk so discreetly
Down through the laughing lights who lie with endless, suspicious delight-
Down through the sly smiling, faintly shining, sickening streets
which bite and bribe the brave, cautious feet-
So as not to flaunt the feeling skin
And strip so soon the jolly gleam
Of its silken rind,
Oh such a glorious kind!
