Fence And Fence Ability Poem by Neil McGreevy

Fence And Fence Ability

A friend asked me to build a fence
for quite a handsome recompense
and though I had once built a wall
it wasn't quite the same at all

A wall is made from bricks and mortar
and copious amounts of water
but fences on the other hand
have posts and things to make them stand

The problem was, as I could see
although it was a generous fee
if I took on this complex mission
my skills would likely be deficient

And though I sought the best solution
I finally came to the conclusion
a wall might be a piece of cake
but a fence would be a big mistake
