Feathered Friends Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Feathered Friends

Birdwatchers' Paradise
a daylight serenade
captivating plumage
invades the promenade.

Flying above the grandstand,
nothing can compare...
breadcrumbs for nourishment
so lamentable not to care.
Hopefully with insight
and telescope at hand
all horizons we will search
for birds of our motherland.
Such a heavenly feeling
runs through this heart of mine
as nature's grand old warbler
perches upon the vine.
The sight of my feeding table
brings passerines this way
to enjoy a meal and water
in sunshine of the day.

Birdwatcher's Paradise
a daylight serenade
captivating plumage
invades the promenade.
