Fears Poem by Sasha Claire Beckains

Fears

Outside my world, is trouble.
The kind that everyone hates.
There's no cure for it.
It spreads like wildfire and keeps
on burning.
Even truck loads of water can't help.
It just gets bigger. Every minute.
The pain that we suffer through everyday.
Is just like that.
No hope. No care. No more.
The sky fills up with smoke.
Like me crying away at something I've lost.
I start to run, but it follows.
It's like darkness trying to swallow me,
but with fire instead.
It's coming closer and almost burning me.
I can feel the heat rising and my
adrenaline going faster.
I can't help but collapse.
I black out right there in the middle of no where.
No one to save me.
I'm finally lost.
But then...
Something comes. I see a small dim light.
It's getting brighter and closer.
I thought I was dead but then, I saw your face.
Your sweet smile glowing at me like never before.
There are no scars or bruises.
It was only in my head.
All those things were just something
that I feared for all these years.
But now, I've conquered them.
