Fear Poem by Gwen Maffia

Fear

Dusted wind swirls around my tears
Frosted fate grips my guarded heart
The deadly dream invades my soul and fears
Forever destined to tear my world apart

As I gaze at the violet sun
A solitary shadow appears
Spinning round its path
Persistent as it nears
Tender is its touch
Hungry for the grief
Skillful in its strength
Watches for relief
Offers hopeful challenge
Determined in its quest
Resisting helpless cries
For now, untroubled rest

Be gone opressive nightmare
You're swallowed by the sun
Torment destroyed the vision fades
No longer do I run

A solitary shadow slowly disappears
Its unimagined power interrupted fears
