Father Time. Poem by Connetta Jean

Father Time.

Autumn is here
making herself known
there's leaves everywhere
like a carpet.
Summer's going home you know
Back to where warm days go
wherever they go.
Does anyone know
that place time goes?
where winter and spring
have been hiding out..
Father time is such
a strange old man
set in his ways
never changes.
He came today
to say
Summer must go
(she's been hanging on)
Soon October will fade
into November
and old man winter
must first do His dance
with Autumn..
He's already been here
bringing a chill
and dark winter skies..
soon his friend
Jack Frost
will come for His visit
marking the time
Autumn starts leaving.
she never stays long.
