Father's Dear Friend Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Father's Dear Friend

Rating: 1.0

Forty words:

Captain Stevens looked so right
In sweet dreams, last night.
Khaki uniform, medals bright,
Three pips sparkling in the light.
Leather gloves, leather cane,
His shoes polished over again.
In my dreams he was still alive:
Captain ~ nineteen forty-five.
