Fasting Poem by Sarojkanta Dash

Fasting

Today I'm fasting.
I won't take:
Messages from friends,
Their roasted heartbeats
Lightning-shaped,
No burning stomach
As I won't take
Acidic comments,
Friend's spicy silence
I won't take
For I'm fasting
And my liver
Is too small
To contain
Extra ton of bile,
Carbohydrate
Of disgraceful
Dismissal
I won't take
For I'm fasting,
And dear!
Your offerings
I refuse, will remain
Always yours.
