the reflecting lake has painted
the face of the lion
who came to her shores.

With ten million strokes the
morning sun has painted all purple..
then he changed his mind
and with 10 million more
painted all pink and gold
and saffron.

And with 1 continuing
presence he has by eminent
domain taken Jack Frost's
jewels.
