Farthest Of My Farthest Spheres Poem by sundaram chandrakalaadhar

Farthest Of My Farthest Spheres

Mother launches me
Out of her womb
On to this world
Amidst flames of pain
And torrents of pain!

Mother alone
Is my star I
I spin around
In tight circles
For all my needs!

Slowly and steadily
A host of things
Fascinate my fancies
As days rush past me
Planting seeds of desires !

I kick my orbit
At its waist;
Make it elliptical
To gain easy grasp
Of far-off glitters!

Every spectacle
Weans away
My proximity to mom
Yet i near her
For all selfish needs!

An irresistible star now
Charms my eyes!
Onto a collision course
I become a wanton prey!

It tears me away
Out of gravity
Of my aged mother;
Crashes me safely
Onto its bosom!

Now my mother
No more a star -
But my planet!
And from a demanding planet
To a commanding star
I raise my status!
Near impossibility
In heavenly science;
But common occurrence
In human history!
And i keep her
As my farthest of farthest spheres!
