Farewell, Lady Blues Poem by olawale famodun

Farewell, Lady Blues

Farewell, I say farewell;
The ants as small as they are
Need not be told about
The advent of the rains.
I felt your actions
Tiptoed around our emotional issues.
Farewell, Lady
And farewell to your Blues.

Know full well
Know full well you never come back
Unlike the birds
Who contain their flyway.
Farewell, Lady Blues
I will not cry even as I lie alone
I will not die even as I try alone,
And farewell to your Blues.

Farewell, I won't call you back
Save to wish you well
Wherever your interests carry you
Like the dust the wind lifts.

Farewell, Lady Blues
I will do better
And better I will do
All only without you;
I will not ignore the worried notes
Like hanging tattered boots
On an infested wooden rack.

Tears of today
Are the strength of tomorrow;
I cry alone, I try alone
And sing alone the Blues
On its walking bass
That says
Farewell, Lady;
Farewell to your Blues.
