Farewell Poem by Bireswar Halder

Farewell

Detachment in life gives only grief and sorrow
And makes deep wounds in heart for tomorrow
Life becomes miserable to sustain the injuries.
It`s really difficult to heal up the melancholy.

It pains me a lot to leave you alone in the world
Breaking the promises made for the concord
My days are numbered for the final departure
Incurable disease made my game of life over.

Your love and affection has extended my life
And to boost up against all odds and the strife
Life was so beautiful - never realized it early
Many a sweet memory afflict my dreams really.

Tears rolled down before leaving you, my dear
And heart beats frequently for a mysterious fear
I find a summon is ready and knocking the door
I am to attend the apex court - pretexts no more.

Before saying good-bye, let me see your face
I am overwhelmed with sympathy and grace
Give me a shelter in your heart after my death
I will surely be with you till your last breath.
