Farewell Poem by Anthony Joseph Erangey

Farewell

I bade farewell to eccentricity,
For long had I been in its zealous grasp.
It charged though me, with electricity
Slithering my brain, dark Saharan Asp.
Ignorant of my abnormalities,
It roamed free, in wait of, my last breath gasped.

Despite my gracious hospitality,
My facial tics and grunts, no more controlled.
Most mused... He dwells in unreality
His fate long been sealed, tossed out in the cold.
He cares not for our commonality,
Has he no desire to fit in our fold? ..

I bade thee farewell, irreverently.
No more shall you lurk, or creep through my mind.
Your nectar drunk, irrationality,
And all your cohorts, from hence are exiled.
I will pursue spirituality,
A path I have walked, with gold shoes and wine.
