Far Beyond The Darkness Poem by Francis Duggan

Far Beyond The Darkness

Rating: 1.5

Far beyond the darkness can you see the light
Where all it is breezy and lovely and bright
You walk in the park in the smoky air
But the air it is clean by the hills over there
In the polluted park there's not one healthy tree
But by the far hills it is pollution free
From drought and pollution the landscape looking bare
And the scourge of dieback around you everywhere
The sprinklers not on in the park of the town
The sun shining warm and the grass short and brown
And black smoke from the factory chimney trails across the sky
And the air to breathe foul and so smoky and dry
But by the far hills the landscape looking green
And the trees looking healthy and the air is quite clean.
