Far Away Poem by Ryan Brodesser

Far Away

Far away from human face
I walk alone, in this lonely place
I am long gone from the place I knew
Away from enemies, and friends true
I walk along empty shores
And beside me, the tide pounds and roars
I walk along in empty forest trails
In forests with trees like sails
I walk along an gurgling stream
and fish with tails agleam

Heavy rain pelts my face
and faster and faster I pace
I hurry on through trees and streams
of Eden wishes and broken dreams
I walk through spines of streets
and rows of empty seats.
The stars dance in the last dying light
woven their best to light the night
and so I go on and on and ever I go
as far and wide as I could ever know
