Far Away Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Far Away

Well, I thought I slept peacefully,
And the waves of the Arabian Sea
Beat wildly
In my ears so alert.

And my slow way of living
I could see the sun shining,
So sliently
In my mind so quiet.

And then one morning,
An airplane I think,
Can't remember, no cannot...
Imagined a land far away,
Was it called America? I think?

No, the engines roared
It was still India
Still home at home still,
Imagined a land far away,
Was it called America?
Don't want to....Don't want to.

And my slow way of living,
I could see the sun shining,
So sliently,
In my mind so....? ?
