Family For St. Francis Poem by Ima Ryma

Family For St. Francis

St. Francis of Assisi heard
And saw all nature had to give,
And sought to try by deed and word,
A better way for all to live.
Sisters and brothers all with worth,
Sharing a common place and time,
Under the care of Mother Earth.
Humans not in reason nor rhyme,
Destroying now the future for
Whatever life there is to be,
Ever wanting and wasting more.
So what to do humanity?

So much to do to make it so,
All that St. Francis once did know.
