Familiar Stangers Poem by Max Jason Wallace

Familiar Stangers

Endless hours gazing into amorous eyes so true,
Lips raw with countless passionate kisses shared,
Fatigued muscles, entangled embrace, we'd swoon,
Excitingly, ever closer to ecstasy's edge, we dared.

Time flies by, life happens, glowing embers cool,
Laundry piles, grass ta mow, children to be fed.
Cooking gets better, bills stack up, baby's got the flu,
Life's hectic, we're tired, it's late, all straight to bed.

As the years melt away, babies go off to college,
Sadly, steadily growing apart, fiery passion gone,
Familiar strangers, taken a back by the knowledge,
Being unable to recall, passion filled nights till dawn.

Looking back on it now, where did the years all go?
On the way to 'Forever, ' everyday life got in the way,
A mystery! When did it all change? I'd like to know!
Empty nested, familiar strangers begin a new phase.

Endless hours gazing into amorous eyes so true,
Lips moist, countless passionate kisses shared,
Familiar strangers, familiar embraces, we'd swoon,
Rekindled, passion's embers ignited, glowing, flared.
