Falling Leaves Poem by Juan Olivarez

Falling Leaves

A cool wind is blowing,
Through the trees.
Rustling the leaves,
With the autumn breeze.
Multi-colored leaves abound,
Floating continuously,
To the grateful ground.
You can smell rain,
In the autumn air,
As the sun starts to wane,
And the trees stand bare.
Autumn is here,
And that can only mean,
Winter is near,
But as yet unseen.
Falling leaves orange and red,
Piling up all around,
Many branches left unclad,
Falling leaves making no sound.
