Fallen Angel Poem by Dennis Walker

Fallen Angel

O poor Angel was it such a shock
That man could do this to you
You’re an eternal with wisdom of the ages
But men dragged you into their wars
Now you are chained with blood on your wings

Did you think you could stop the evil of man?
So many have tried and all have failed
Man was born to war and fight
Human cruelty knows no bounds
Sadism gives power with power wealth grows

Every race creed and color looks for bigger better ways to kill
The more efficient the more money they can make
The Lord gave us the Word
The Evil of man has used this to kill
More die in the name of religion than any other cause

Take heart poor Angel there are men of good in the world
Their voices will be heard
Slowly men of Evil will be forced to give up their wars
To surrender their arms to help the poor and down trodden
Until then poor angel you will remain shackled with the blood of man on your wings
