Fake Impression Poem by Victor Agbanyim

Fake Impression

It is not who I am
Or what I've become
It is what I want you to feel
What I want you to see
I do this for the praise
More for fame
Then I realize
Is this me?
Is this I or someone else?
Pretending what you’re not
Is this worth it?
Is it worth blocking way of self-discovery?
I find myself more concerned what people think about me
I find myself killing the true me
The mirror show another me
It shows the wrong person
I may succeed creating the false me
And also succeed killing the true self
