Fairy Bells Poem by Jan Simons

Fairy Bells

With Fairy Bells the fairies play
a fairy song that they say
can spin a mortal round and round
in endless circles all day long
all day long right through the years
careless for the countless tears
that do come when we do find
we have lost all track of time
all track of time while we danced
in fairy circles, fairy lands
laughing joyful so much fun
until that is the dance is done
the dance is done and we are old
with silver hair and silver beard
for you see in fairy land
time turns slower than that of man
than that of man for when we come back
to friends and family we find that
we have lost them to another time
while we danced with fairies so sublime
so sublime they love us too
yes they really really do
for as we danced with love and joy
they'll turn us back into a girl or boy
a girl or boy who can go back
to friends and family so then that
we can dance the dance again
but this time with our
family and friends!
