Failure Poem by Mallika Achuthan Menon

Failure

Rating: 5.0

Is the failure curse or boon?
All failed to judge it miserably.
Through care and concern in plenty
I liked to make my mother fail
Who lived a life for me alone.
Through respect and due consideration
I liked to make my father fail, who taught
me what was right and wrong.
Through gratitude and indebtedness
I liked to make my master fail who
had shown me world of knowledge.
The love that soaked in dedication with
which I conquered his winsome mind
and I used the same to make him fail
as he being my beloved one.
Ere three decades one fine morning
A bundle of joy came out from me
Day after day my daughter taught me
what was patience and tolerance.
Time was passing, roles were changing,
Now loneness gave me pain and prick
I liked to make that hurt to fail and
tried to practise which I learnt from
what she taught me decades back.
'A friend in need is a friend indeed'
We proved it well mutually,
as the gift of life is true friendship,
we nurtured it with supreme love.
Through a bond of trust with loyalty
I liked to make her fail many times.
My friend didn't give me more chances
that she made me fail in life ahead
by opting long lasting friendship with
Death, the end of all, the inevitable.
Ego, pride and selfishness
The evil reflections of mind
I liked to make them fail one by one
Through simplicity, the rarest bliss.
Is the failure curse or boon?
It is another stepping stone
towards the success and progress.

Your allusion is unique. All who were part of you became a failure. You became a success in spite of the circumstances. Your poem is beautifully written. Is it failure or boon? The result justifies the action. You have flowered to be a beautiful person writing lovely poems. That is a boon. See and count the blessings, Mallika.

Hi Mallika, There is no gift like love. Love supplements all failures and shortcomings. It overpowers all ills. As Kumaran Aasan wrote SnehamaaNakhilasaaramoozhiyil- Love is the essense of everything in the world. Beautiful poem on love and hope. On how love compensate losses. Loved reading. All the best. Thank you for sharing.100+
