Failed To Commit Poem by Cassandra Howell

Failed To Commit

Was it a lustful obsession?
Or was it a true feeling
Was it the remedy for our depression?
Or just an endless ceiling

Why we took that road
I still do not know
Now we both are sharing the load
With only hatred to show

Can things ever be undone?
Will we ever forgive?
The real trial has just begun
While I'm still garsping to live

It was time to move on
We needed to be apart
But everything's totally gone
Everything but two broken hearts

It's all my fault
I should've been honest
It's all come to a halt
And shame will last the longest

You will find that perfect someone
She's out there waiting
I hope you have the upmost fun
And that it will last without deflating

We are more different than I thought
But now it's plain to see
It's a problem I've never sought
And you'll find better around the next curve

It's obvious we will both move on
But I know it's for the best
And before we know it, life will be gone
So let's not let our friendship pass the test
