Facing Fear Poem by Free Spirit

Facing Fear

To let go, to face it all,
So scared and frightened of falling,
Falling into the huge expanse of blackness,
A black void,
To get so far, so tired, slipping,
No longer able to hang on,
Its here, the time is now.

Petrified to lose the feeling,
So beautiful and true,
To believe in flying,
To overcome and heal it all,
But sadly no to turn away,
From good to bad,
To face it all.

How much longer, how much further,
Working so hard,
So lonely and isolated,
To let go of whats good,
Hanging on so tight,
Too scared to go there,
A place beyond, to hell.

To walk through hell,
Walking alone,
Believing the heart,
For everything left, strength,
To get to the otherside,
So frightening and petrifying,
Whats there.

To reach out, it has to be there,
The dream, love, freedom and to fly,
But if its not,
Where can it be,
To take the steps,
Lost for all the time it takes,
To find the inner self.

To trust noone,
Only the self,
Never giving up,
Or be lost,
Forever in this place,
The place of fear,
The hole.

To face the fear,
It can be done,
The time it takes,
Victory won,
The darkness fades,
Gives way to light,
Freedom is in sight.
