Facebook Slave Poem by Tony Mushrow

Facebook Slave

We are your slaves, we need to see. we need to tell you that we had a pee.
No more friends, for chats and talks, no more dogs, getting took for walks.

We are your slaves, we need to see, to show you what we had for tea.
Our friends we’d rather chat on line, than face to face, we don’t make time.

We are your slaves, we need to see, look here’s a picture of my knee.
Zombies at bus stops, attached to phones, no one speaks, no one moans.

We are your slaves, we need to see, more pictures of that holidey. We sit and tap away all day, choose not to see a human face, we’d rather live in cyberspace.

No more visits to mum and dad, why bother just flip your ipad.
Why do we need you, oh so much, we’ve lost the need to speak and touch?

I bet you in a few years time, If you get one wish, I know what would be mine,
To get back all my Facebook time. I think I’ll have to have a word,
Need to inbox Zuckerberg.

So get out there and enjoy the sun, no more Facebook, have some fun. So don’t be slaves, we need to see, the beauty in humanity.

End.
