Eyes Of My Heart Poem by Leaking Pen

Eyes Of My Heart

In an instance, from a distance
Eyes of my heart saw a beautiful shadow
And surrendered its keys
Although my mind hesitated…
Low and behold
My mind proved my heart wrong.

How can my heart be off the mark?
It must be desperately yearning for love
To allow itself to jump the gun,
At any friendly gesture which it misconstrued
As an open door to love
While careless of the wrong consequences.

To dance in love’s pas de deux
Two hearts must be in unison.
Next time when eyes of my heart,
Lock in on a new target and perceive it as love
My mind should take charge, and if proven to be true love
Let it breathe…
Like a precious wine before consuming it!
