Eyes Poem by R K Summers

Eyes

Eyes can say so much
Sometimes, they speak louder than the mouth
Eyes can say “I love you”
Eyes can scream madness
Eyes can be filled with anger
They can seduce, enthral, or condemn
Alive with curiosity in a child
Burn with wisdom in an old man
Ignite passion in young lovers
But the one thing they cannot do
Is lie
Because sometimes you look at someone
Who smiles and laughs
And makes the jokes no one else dares to
Sometimes
That someone
Can’t bear to brave the world one more day
Sometimes
That someone
Wants to close their eyes forever
