Extravagant Women Poem by Toshie Nohara

Extravagant Women

Should we blame fashion alone
When women become extravagant?
Rather the blame should fall on the
vain ladies
So fickle-minded are they

With the strange variety of wardrobe
They can't decide to wear a hat or scarf
Lest someone will laugh at their poor
taste in dressing
So

They spend endless hours at the mirror
Matching accessories with their clothes
Half an hour passed yet nothing seems
to fit
So
fasticious are they

The pearl necklace on the dressing
table is highly insulted
When the ladies prefer the
expensive diamond
How sad the poor pearls must be!

Extravagant ladies are not only
heartless
Their indifferent attitudes reveal their
character
When they wear the shiny high-heeled
shoes
They never realize the new pumps are
weeping in the shoe box!

They have no concern about things which
they hardly wear or use
Why do they buy such things in the first place?
Why can't they be more charitable when they
can afford so many things?
Do they ever wonder how thrifty
women hunger for even the simple things?

Extravagance can grip a person and become
idol to vain women especially
the rich ones.
