Extortion Poem by Xochilt O'Leary

Extortion

He stamped her heart with 'payment received'
and he tossed her out like yesterdays garbarge,
fishbones and unmentionable's, the stuff nightmares
don't even want. Once she was as fresh as a clean sheet of xerox paper, then blacked, like an old negro spiritual,
broken, but whole.
