Exposed Poem by Brittany Bell

Exposed

I feel the pressure building
Higher and higher until i can barely breathe
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
I'm exposed to you, clear as the day

How can i hide from you
when there is no point in hiding
you'll figure me out in a heartbeat
I cant seem to hide anything from you

I'm exposed, im visible to you
there's no hiding, i cant escape you
you pierce my soul, piecing the puzzle together
there's is nothing i can do to stop you

you are close, so close to solving me
to figuring me out, too close, gotta find a way to stop you
the walls i built crack under your soul searching, u are coming closer
to exposing me, to breaking the layers within me

you left behind your mark, leaving me vulnerable
leaving me with the pieces you left behind in your search
leaving me breathless, trying to regain a sense of peace in my mind
you left me exposed, left me to pick up the pieces you left behind

I'm exposed, cant imagine why u would want me this way
i try to pick up the pieces so nobody will see how exposed i am
im reckless, confused and vulnerable to everyone around me
i want to get rid of that feeling, trying to piece together the pieces

I cant hide, im bare, im exposed from your search
you left me wide open, left me helpless and exposed
my heart cant handle anymore exposure
its building the pieces back together

the walls are going back up, trying to keep it
from getting exposed again by someone else
you did too much damage, too much is left behind
too much has change, too much of me is exposed
from your soul searching that u did to me
