Exploring Happiness #63- Perseverance Poem by June Stepansky

Exploring Happiness #63- Perseverance

I tried this
and I failed.
I tried that
and I didn’t succeed.

Year after year
I tried everything,
and then,
just when I decided
to abandon all efforts,
I succeeded.

How long does it take to succeed in our goals? I suppose the correct answer to that question is—(as long as it takes.)
Many of us give up our dreams too soon. We often underestimate the amount of time and effort that are required to achieve our desires.
If we really want something that we feel is important to us and that we believe would enhance our lives, then we must continue to pursue our goals no matter how long it takes or how difficult that may prove to be.
If we do this conscientiously is there any doubt that it will be possible and even probable that eventually we will be successful?

“To achieve one must first get out of his mind any notion
either of the ease or rapidity of success.”
Edward William Bok

Behind every successful man there’s
a lot of unsuccessful years.
