Exploring Farnhill Moor Poem by C Richard Miles

Exploring Farnhill Moor

When we were young, we would explore
To while away the daylight hours
And climb the crags on Farnhill Moor.
We were intrigued by what we saw
As we observed wild woodland flowers
When we were young. We would explore
And pick bright bluebells by the score,
Then look up where the Pinnacle towers
And climb the crags on Farnhill Moor.
Though we had less, we were not poor
In finding riches nature showers,
When we were young. We would explore;
Yet now they won’t go past the door
(For childhood’s not the same as ours)
And climb the crags on Farnhill Moor,
Now virtual reality’s lure
Clouds minds, where it did not dull ours
When we were young. We would explore
And climb the crags on Farnhill Moor.
