Exchange Of Nature's Gifts Poem by Ronald Chapman

Exchange Of Nature's Gifts

Would you like to exchange nature's gifts?

Sunny days we have.
Sunny days are here to stay!
Drought-stricken brown grass,
Buckling roadways from the heat,
Empty reservoirs,
Scorching heat, sitting on the back porch.

I dream of cool wet rainy days,
Sunny days we have. Go away!

Rainy days we have.
Rainy days are here to stay!
The grass is green,
The sky is black with clouds,
The reservoirs are overflowing,
The swollen rivers are cresting,
The roads are flooding,
Staring out the window.

I dream of clear, bright sunny days.
Rainy days we have.

Would you like to trade nature's gifts?
