Ex-Lover Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Ex-Lover

Exed you off the list long time ago
The direction in which we were moving
Ultimately would have resulted in breakup
Yet the dishonesty consumed you
Until you turned cold, Formally known as the Ex
Wasn't nothing healthy about us
As your continuation of
false statements intending to affect those around you
Creating the illusion that cheat the eye
You're a coldhearted snake
Yet learning nothing from your experiences
Sincerly believing you changed would be foolish
And accepting an invitation is almost near fate
Had love for you once
Won't go back to a time full of darkness
Formally known as my ex
Officially I depart from you
