Everywhere I Am/My Sadness Comes Back To Me Poem by Shalom Freedman

Everywhere I Am/My Sadness Comes Back To Me

Everywhere I am
My sadness comes back to me-
Sadness it seems
Is part of my essential self
I carry it with me like a signature.

One day perhaps in some perfect heaven
I will not find it within me
But now here in this world
Where even the greatest Goodness and Happiness
May know loss
It is with me always
Even if sometimes only as a possibility-

Sadness goes with me wherever I go
And I am sadness it seems in some of my essence-

Bless the light of the day and the beauty of the world
And those moments of rare exuberance
In which Sadness is not.

It should be considered as a mental disease which should be treated by a specialist. Otherwise this phase of bearing such trance may lead one to self-destruction. That will not be wise as a poet. Feeling of pain in body or mind...that is different. But sadness related with depression. One must have to come out of such constant stress of mind by any means. Should take active action to erase it out. As a reader, my reaction is very honest and poet should honor it....Well written. Regards, Pranab k chakraborty.
