Everything Was Swept Away Poem by Gillian Commerford

Everything Was Swept Away

A voice spoke:
'I am God,
there is nothing else.'-
And everything was swept away
all the books from my table
all the pictures from the wall
all the mats from the floor.
The mirror shattered,
windows, doors flew by
walls crumbled
the roof was gone.
I stood naked, alone
surprised, shocked
till even my thoughts disappeared
and I was not.
