Everyday Bread Poem by Vijay Sai R

Everyday Bread

Rating: 4.5

Torn clothes
Severely shattered
Stitched and unstitched
In random patches
Coach to coach
Treading steadily
Of the speeding locomotive
Partly blinded
No one to accompany
But so much gifted
Sweet voice
Singing pleasantly
Fighting to survive
Pennies very few
He laboured everyday
Yet another day
Passed away
Waiting for next day
Only to earn
A loaf of bread.

A day! Help! Help! Another Day! Prayers from such a common man Might date a victory one day.......... Though rising every day To see a loaf of bread Earned through toiling way............a very touching poem.................Vijay

A really great poem describing life for the poor which is alien to people of the Northern Hemisphere. I congratulate you on the pace of the poem, the simple choice of words and description you have used to make your point.
