Everybody Have Some Things In Common Poem by Francis Duggan

Everybody Have Some Things In Common

Everybody have some things in common from the pauper to the billionaire
We all must die sooner or later and we all breathe the very same air
And red is the colour of our blood the differences between us not great
And the child born today getting older and time on none ever does wait.

Everybody have some things in common we all have to eat and drink to survive
And we surely would die of exhaustion if of rest and sleep ourselves we deprive
And the Seasons go by in a hurry and short is the human life span
And life in the World does not end with the death of any great woman or man.

Everybody have some things in common though our differences are many 'twould seem
And some are so very conceited and some suffer of low self esteem
And some have by far too much money and many live in poverty
Yet rich or poor, Stateless or homeless we are all beings of mortality.

Everybody have some things in common some vital necessities of life we do share
We all need shelter, food and water for survival and we all breathe in the same air
And all of us are only mortals and all of us one day have to die
But therein must end the comparison between the aristocrat and I.
