Every Journey Is A Story. Poem by NGALAH GWEDENG

Every Journey Is A Story.

Every journey is a story
Every story tells in journey
Every journey weaves for story
Every story leaves in journey.

Journey ends to lend story life 5
Story strives to make journey thrive
After decay of dust from strife
Fosters the stay of soul alive.

Life renews when death ushers
Death a-new when life suffers 10
No more the strains of gains to boast
No more of gains that strain the host.

The host of life that boasts to boon
The boast of life is rendered soon
As cause of loss that breeds the bane 15
The loss of cause calls down as vain.

Vain is the train we board for class
Vain is the class we train to mass
Grains for guile we sow not but reap
Guile we sow as grains to slay sleep. 20

Sleep is slain in sonsie sorrows
Sleep bespeaks in bespoke burrows
For barons once buoyed up to bust
A deified boss not deigned to burst.

To burst a deity and stay on 25
To boss the dreaded deuce upon
Enfeebled dupes craves a kind kink
To cause each crank kingpin to sink.

Sink to sing from drear dungeon
Of guilt that betray why vile tongues 30
Are shrill when cash is loose to catch
The next flight for lunch by the watch.

Tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-a-tack-tock:
Why must we fix the time to talk
To coincide with incidents 35
No dunce would see as accidents?

Accidents keep to no strict time
But often come home ere the time
We leave the warmth to waste in wild
Waste lands which tame us to be mild. 40

Mild talk wins more hearts than letters
Which betray the bites of sellers
Of conscience who when in dismay
Their cronies in crimes do betray.

Betrayals as such tend to expose 45
Traitors who sly tyrants impose
To ruin in rigging and then yearn
For fans from slums they wrecked to earn.

Earning support demands frank talk
And not the crooked path to walk 50
Through cracks and corners that crooks cut
Like sores on lips to keep mouths shut.

When mouths are shut and silence reigns
The poor puppet not prone to pains
Of peasants pretends to recall 55
The treachery that eased his fall.

O what a fall for fair Poetry
To verse in lines that in glory
Would tell the world each life’s journey
Is good food for one good story! 60

Every story starts in journey
Every journey weaves for story
Every story tells in journey
Every journey leaves as story.
