Ever Shall It Be Poem by Rachel Harris

Ever Shall It Be

Rating: 5.0

Ever shall it be
When the sky cries rain
Friends come with gentleness
To wipe away the pain

Ever shall it be
The distressing wind sighs
Friends are laughing
To bring joy into your eyes

Ever shall it be
Lonely wolves howl to the moon
Friends gather ‘round you
To sing a merry tune

Ever shall it be
The frozen sit in cold
Friends dance with liveliness
And warm you in their hold

Ever shall it be
The pines moan in sorrow
Friends speak lightly
Of a bright tomorrow

Ever shall it be
Darkness closes in
Friends uncover lights
Shining from within

Ever shall it be
Friends are always there
Friends to lean on
In the depths of despair

This is a really good write. I like the rythm of it. It leads you on in a nice steady beat. Your imagery is great too; 'When the sky cries rain' Ever shall it be indeed.
