Eve! Poem by Shahzia Batool

Eve!

Rating: 4.1

The creation of woman was meant to decor the world's interior, just to add a soft touch to the rocky contours upon the hard crust of the earth, and to stay as a partner to Adam, a blessing as a sister, a counselor as a better-half, a divine light as a mother, a source of delight as a daughter...Her wildness can be treated by some mildness, a fire to be handled with care using a safety valve, carrying in eyes the vagueness of delphic obscurities, her life is the happening one, no less than an epic, she is the primary color in the artist's palette with a myriad shades, the melody of a piper's notes that touch the heart, the metaphor of poets, interpreted in multiple meanings, a butterfly among the falcons...But now this is the time to refresh the profile of this mostly mishandled, misused rather abused being especially in the 3rd world countries, she is the one who should know well what are her boundaries and limits to be successful and safe in all terrible times...

In Hinduism Goddess Durga is imagined with ten hands. She is the mother and she is the savor of mankind from the clutch of Demon, the Mahishashur. So, is the common women! Just think over the matter. If women had not been, what would have been the condition of this world!

A lovely penning Shahzia. I fully agree with you that many a woman are facing terrible times on this earth as the the delicate butterfly amongst the falcons. I'm ashamed and my sympathy is there with all the women on earth. But not all of them are the hawks or falcons, there are so many good hearts who adore woman. Pl. read my poem A WOMAN (I wrote on woman's day) , expecting your elaborate comment.

Woman! Thou art the name of heavenly pleasure. The lap of a mother is more comfortable than any bed of earth to heaven. Love of a sister is more appeasing and selfless. i can not ignore the devotion of my wife who has decorated my life. As a daughter you delight the world. But as a friend you are super.

A beautiful delineation of woman in all her multiplicity and diversity...... A very feminine perception conforming to the age old concepts about ideal womanhood.....! She is at once fire and pacifier.... strength and infirmity... creative stimulus and destructive force. Unless handled with care and fairness, she from being a man's fortune can become his bane! ! I enjoyed this piece of verse which is more poetic than poetry and endorse all the views expressed here! !
