Europe Poem by Elaine Battersby

Europe

Oh, were in trouble
Some ones burst the bubble,
Europe is at war again,
No boots, rifles, or bombs in sight this time.
Just exploding markets,
Dogma,
Chaos,
Fear,
Geography may unite us,
Though culture and the Euro may divide us.
The mighty ancient empires have fallen.
People seduced by money and easy lifestyles,
Have become greedy,
Disillusioned.
But now the pot is empty, gone.
To the streets they have taken,
Shouting, waving their arms in protest.
Whilst the politisions, shuffle and scuffle,
Faces white and pinched with fear,
Oh dear,
Were in trouble.
