A group of as many as 60 conspirators decided to assassinate Caesar at the meeting of the Senate on March 15,44 BC, the Ides of March. "Et tu, Brute? " (Even you, Brutus?)was Julius Caesar final words to friend Marcus Junius Brutus. He was stabbed 23 times to death by dozens of senators
