Escape (Iii) Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Escape (Iii)

Rating: 4.0

Everytime I turn around, Someone trying to hold me down
the enemy wants control, it's going be a struggle
I've got to get away so I can be free
Escape is all I need
and satisfaction will be guaranteed

No matter where I be or who I am near
they pretend to be a friend and play on my fears
There is a place I can run to, a place where I found solace
where my fears would be abolished
there came my liberation

I tried to live my life but started to feel confined
but the daily weight would see me hit a slow decline
How could I let this be? it's my fault but it won't break me
i'm not tired of fighting
because my spirits ignited

why is it I can't get what it is I want to?
Made this personal when it's just not cool
So don't ever try and tell me what I ought to do
I'm not too concerned about you
I will do what I want to

Escape, got to run away from a life filled with confinement
Escape, keep myself polished and shine bright as a diamond
Escape, the person with the say so that held me captive against my own will
Escape, I'm gonna do what I wanna because living my life is the greatest thrill
