Escape From New York Poem by Rose Falcone

Escape From New York

Rating: 5.0

Days and nights they blur together
Through balmy winds and stormy weather

The moon hangs high and splits the night
Please shed some mercy on this plight!

It doesn't seem very fair at all
For she's alone and he's hit a wall

With you is where I'd rather be
But I just can't leave, it's a sorrowful plea

These chains they just won't loose their hold
Even though that love's gone cold

For years and years I've searched for you
Now leaving's come and I'm not through

Matters that be they are at hand
Life has a way to twist what's planned

The clouds do break, they dissipate
Our destined love we anticipate

Hear me now my darling dear
Do not despair, please have no fear

Don't pay the ransom yet says he
I've escaped New York, I come for thee!
