Swifter than light
Heavier than stone
Deeper than death
Even when the eyes forever are closed

Eternal blindness awaits
It is welcomed and embraced
It numbs the pain like balm
To a wounded broken heart

Live and die in the pain
Breathe and rise another day
Another place soothing to the mind
Life's short, eternity sure
