Escape Poem by Caleb Jones

Escape

I’m feeling trapped, lost and confused
They tell me to give up, forget that, I refuse
The bomb is ticking, but who lit the fuse?
All I here is lies, what happened to the truth?
They expect me to drop, but here I stand
Nobody gets it, nobody understands
When I count my blessings, I only need one hand
Trapped in time, suffocated by the sand
Is this my destiny?
Is God just testing me?
Death is tryin’ to get the best of me
It’s like everywhere I go, the grim reaper is sittin’ next to me
The root of all evil, is the conception of greed
The Wealthy want and want, in succession comes need
If you get the metaphor, money is the ether
It makes your soul burn, like the inferno and its creatures
You better watch your back, here comes the Grim Reaper
He came for the crooked preachers, and sin teachers
Nobody understands, but I have to get out of this place
My minds trapped in a cell, and I gotta Escape
